The Bomb

Artie Shaw was the main witness before the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) on 4 May 1953 and was grilled by the committee on his membership in a number of organizations, including the Peace Congress.
“I see nothing wrong with having a bunch of people from different countries coming together and talking about peace,” Shaw, who had served 18 months in the US Navy during World War II, responded.
“Don’t you know that was a Communist fronted party?” the committee member asked.
“If you tell me about a Republican fronted one, I’ll join that,” Shaw replied.
Shaw believed he was brought before the committee due to his outspokenness, especially regarding capitalism. “Capitalism deserves to be debunked,” Shaw said. “You go to war with a country for a few dollars, but you won’t go to war to protect a citizen’s life. We’re out there to protect capital. That’s why I was hauled before HUAC, because I made the major mistake of thinking. Don’t ever do that, at least not in a public way.”
Shaw exiled himself to Spain shortly after his HUAC hearing. “Spain was one of the few countries in the world where nobody knew where you were or who you were,” Shaw said. “I did a lot of fishing, a lot of thinking, and some writing.” But after a few years, Shaw returned to America. “I’m not cut out to be an expatriate. I don’t like wine that much.”

Harry Moran wasn't blacklisted

Harry Morgan, and only Harry Moran, said he was “briefly” blacklisted after his name appeared in Red Channels. According to Morgan he was never a communist and was listed because his ex-wife Isobel Gibb was a leftist.
Morgan wrote “All her information came from friends whose conversation leaned sharply away from their relatively high incomes, which, apparently, they found to be embarrassing in a world that harbored poor people. Their chosen method of being helpful was to attend meetings at one another's homes and discuss the problems of the hungry hordes after dinner. I am not trying to be amusing; it's what they really did. A Party member was usually invited to lead the discussions. I was apolitical. To some, that meant that I was either stupid or "inner-directed"—which meant according to them that I didn't care about my fellow man. What I really didn't care about was the four or five of her friends who later became known as the Hollywood Ten.”
Morgan and Gibb were married in 1946 and separated in 1948.
Morgan’s problem was that he poked the cage one to many times. He had appeared on the radio special Hollywood Fights Back on October 26th, 1947 with a bunch of other stars to speak-out against what they said was creeping style fascism in the US that was ending careers in Hollywood.  Most of the celebrities who were on the show later admitted to being members of the Communist party.
Morgan then spoke at the 1947 Radio Correspondents' Association Dinner in front of an audience that included J. Edgar Hoover and President Truman. He made the two uncomfortable several times over the course of his speech. The biggest blow came with his remark, "Whenever it is quiet in Washington, you can count on the Un-American committee to issue a report. Maybe sometime later, when it has a chance, it will start gathering the facts."
The fact was Morgan wasn’t popular with the public and others in the business didn’t much like him either. The fact that he once punch his wife in the face didn’t help or his comments on women (Women should be very attractive and never taught to read. The trouble with the average woman is that she's a little below average. Since 90% of the women one meets seem to be constantly auditioning to become morons, and since half these people are women, it figures that 90% of them aren't too bright either.)

A different sort of black list

Have you ever heard a news story that was so phenomenally stupid, so tilted to the ridiculous left, so politically correct that you shake your head and think, “Who are these morons that come up with this stuff?”

Well, here you go.

Mood Media provides the music selection heard in thousands of retail stores nationwide. As large as they are, Mood Media doesn’t understand the concept of undue censorship nor does it understand the principle of business staying the hell out of the political fray. I say that because some nitwit at the politically correct Mood Media decided to pull the song “It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" from their playlists.

Mood Media refused to say which part of that classic offended them. They are apparently that arrogant.  It was either the word “Pistol” in the song's third verse ("A pair of hop-a-long boots and a pistol that shoots/Is the wish of Barney and Ben.") or possibly that they feel the song enforces gender-specific gifts because Janice and Jen are getting boots while Barney and Ben, those bastards, are getting cap pistols.

Mood Media assumes, I guess, that a song, any song, which is offensive…. to THEM….will hurt YOU.  They aren’t just intolerant anti-gun censors who can’t see a difference between boys and girls…..they’re CONCERNED intolerant censors who can’t see a difference between boys and girls. In other words, the intolerant dumb people at politically correct Mood Media are protecting you from thinking the wrong thoughts taken from a Christmas song.  Yep, politically correct Mood Media actually thinks your that stupid.

Mood Media is such an enormous company that they can pretty much change the popular culture at will.

Trust me, people, this is just the tip of the PC iceberg. The number of songs that will be censored in the next few years will be staggering. Watch and see.
